In the fall of 2020, I embarked on a photographic and literary journey. The world was six months into the pandemic, and there was a general feeling of hopelessness and despair. I thought, who better to give a message of resilience than rescue dogs? I placed an ad on Facebook looking for stories of hope and inspiration, and the universe responded with the most incredible tales. All of the dogs were inspirational and true survivors. Some of the stories were heartbreaking: some pups had endured physical harm at the hands of humans, one pup was lost on a mountain, some were born with physical challenges, and another lived to a very old age. But each dog had a specific lesson to teach. And so, this incredible book, “RESCUED – Stories of Hope and Inspiration,” was born.
I photographed dogs from Pennsylvania to Florida. The dogs tell their stories and share what they learned from their journeys. This is a book you can read with your family. Each dog speaks to specific morals, values, and lessons. This linen-cover, hardbound book features quality silk paper and unparalleled images. The only people who can sell the book are nonprofit rescue organizations. The book was created to help fund organizations that save these animals.
